interquast:

when meghan trainor says “boys like a little more booty to hold at night” she is trying to reassure fat girls who have been CONSISTENTLY humiliated, belittled, mocked, and laughed at for their weight that they ARE still desirable

meghan trainor is trying to say “don’t worry, you’re still beautiful and people will find you attractive”

a song like this wouldn’t even have to exist if society didn’t clearly favor skinny girls. a song like this would never have to be made if all girls of all sizes were paraded as beautiful and sexy. if fat girls were already told every day that they are sexually appealing and beautiful, a song like ‘all about that bass’ would never have existed, because the song is all about lifting up fat girls who have been told they are disgusting.

and if you’re skinny and you hear this song and get OFFENDED by it, you are part of the problem

you’re offended because fat girls are being paraded as MORE sexually appealing than thin girls, for once! for once in their whole lives, a song exists to tell fat girls that they are beautiful and sexy and boys will like them more because they are fat. and that bothers you because up until that, skinny girls were the beautiful ones, and for once there’s a song that doesn’t cater to that. and you’re offended.

but where the FUCK are you calling out advertisements for being fatphobic? where are you when fat girls are being taunted and mocked? what are you doing to be conscious and aware of how society treats your fat sisters? what are YOU doing to help?

you won’t vouch for us. you won’t stand up for us. you never bat an eye if an ad is made up of all skinny girls. you don’t even have to think about what constant humiliation is in store for fat girls their whole lives. you won’t help. you’ll reblog pictures of fat girls with curves in all the “right” places and you’ll preach your “EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL!” shit but that’s not doing shit for us. you don’t do shit for us.

and yet you want us to cater to your every feeling by reassuring y’all that “men like fat girls AND skinny girls” like it’s not fucking obvious that people like thin girls more? like it’s not fucking obvious that we as a society find fat girls to be disgusting and undesirable?

you want us to be ride or die with you but you won’t even ride with us until, god forbid, someone calls you a “skinny bitch.” you want us to cater to you, like society doesn’t already do that.

fuck you. honestly. i mean that.
